The Honorable Barack H. Obama
President of the United States
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington, DC 20500
                                                                  February 10, 2009

Dear President Obama:

Your press conference of February 9, 2009 was notable as it was the first time in my life that I witnessed a U.S. President with such a command of varied and complex issues resulting in coherent, highly intelligent, and thoughtful answers. My sister Veronica (who introduced you at the Dunedin Florida campaign rally last October) has urged me to write you concerning the economy and the Articles of Confederation Presidents.

Having been involved in politics as a state party finance chairman and a U.S. Senate Republican nominee I explained to Veronica, over and over again, that such a letter is destined to be filed away with millions of others never reaching your desk.  The press conference, however, coupled with your constitutional law background and a need to find a real and lasting solution to the real estate crisis has motivated to listen to my baby sister and write this letter.

The Continental Congress and Articles of Confederation Presidents:

The Presidents of the Continental Congress and United States, in Congress Assembled are founding patriots that are, for the most part, not known to the citizens of the United States.  The White House through you, Mr. President, can correct this by executing three important measures:

1.      Include their images and biographies on the whitehouse.gov website in the history of the U.S. Presidency.

2.      Include the 1774-1788 Presidents in the current Constitution of 1787 Presidential Wreath Laying Tomb Order on the anniversary of their birthdays.

3.      Order the Secretary of the Treasury, as the language permits it, to include the Presidents of the United States under the Articles of Confederation in the minting of the new $1.00 coin

You, as evidenced by your discourse, understand that history is the crystal ball to our future. This 1st constitutional period, referred to by President Lincoln in his first inaugural and July 4th, 1861 Special Session of Congress, has been woefully neglected by our government and educators. The case for you to act on any or all three points has been made in the enclosed book. The book is a supplement to President Who? Forgotten Founders which, and was published solely for our DNC and RNC Convention 2008 exhibits.  I also enclosed a President Huntington and Independence Hall Medallion (for good luck) and a set of the Presidential/Capitol trading cards for a White House coffee table.  Additionally, I included two sets of the trading cards along with buttons of the 1st President of the Continental Congress of the United Colonies, 1st Commander-in-Chief United Colonies/States, 1st President of the Continental Congress of the United States and the 1st President of the United States, in Congress Assembled for Malia and Sasha.

In closing this matter, be advised the U.S. Court of Appeals remanded my $1.00 Presidential Coin Case 08-00843, Klos v Paulson, back to the lower court with the opportunity to re-file addressing standing issues with pre-1789 Presidential descendants and sympathetic non-profit organizations joining in the writ of mandamus. It was decided, however, to follow U.S. District Judge Steven D. Merryday’s advice and pursue recognition of these men first through your office and then legislatively rather then re-filing.

 Neighborhood Recovery Act

Presidential history aside, I have been in the real estate business since 1977 restoring 32+ historic properties (Vaudeville Theaters to Revolutionary War Taverns) and was also the RE/MAX of Pennsylvania, n/w Regional Owner from 1986 to 2000.  I did see the real estate crisis coming in the 90’s even meeting with OMB Director, Richard Darmon and other George H. W. Bush advisors in 1992.  I expected the real estate collapse much earlier selling RE/MAX five years too soon. Preaching what I practiced, solutions to avert the crisis were published in 1998, 2000, 2004 and in 2008 which, were dismissed by both the Clinton and Bush Administrations.  On September 17, 2008 I published the Neighborhood Recovery Act, as a private sector alternative opposed to increased government spending (http://famousamericans.net/recovery/). I addressed the REALTOR National Convention’s Tax Council in November 2008 to a standing ovation. My plan was included in NAR’s much broader plan (much I didn’t agree with) and was brought to Capitol Hill by their tax counsel Linda Goold.

I have enclosed the proposal for your review in the hopes that it may be included in discussions while formulating your real estate recovery plan due out, according to Secretary Timothy Geithner, in the next three weeks. It will stabilize the market, more rapidly than anyone would imagine, if enacted.

Despite being an avid supporter of Senator John McCain, this father of eight children desperately wants your administration to succeed in this unprecedented world economic crisis.  If I can be of any assistance, please know Mr. President, I am your most humble and obedient servant.

 Sincerely,

Stanley L. Klos
President
